Battery Checklist

Electrical Checklist – to do monthly

* Check Water Levels (also see Trojan watering instructions)

battery maintenance picOn T-105s (the gel cells don’t need to be filled) look in every cell (under every cap, 3 cells per battery). If the metal plates protrude above the electrolyte, add distilled water immediately, just enough to cover plates. Otherwise bring batteries to a full charge (charge controller should be a solid green or at least 3 successive blinks or on float). Once batteries are charged full, add enough distilled water to bring the electrolyte level to 1/8”below the bottom of the fill well (check out the diagram).

* Check battery connections and tighten any loose ones.

* Clean Panels

Use warm water with vinegar to clean off panels.

* Clean off tops of batteries and battery room.
